Community Focus

As a values-driven company, Laser believes strongly in working closely with the communities in which our projects are located to share the benefits and ensure that our projects take into account unique community needs. We take a long-range view of our role as neighbors and work to build strong relationships.

To the greatest extent practicable, Laser works to hire local labor and contractors to assist in construction and operations work. Laser also goes beyond what is required to help people understand about the important role of natural gas in modern life from efficiently powering residential furnaces, to fueling clean buses, to helping replace coal burning power stations with clean natural gas generation. We recognize that natural gas extraction and delivery is something new to many people in the Northeast so we work hard to help people understand about this clean, domestic fuel that plays a major role in powering modern American life and bolstering regional economies.

Through informational materials and interactive meetings, we seek to help people feel more comfortable in hosting gathering line projects within their communities.

In Spring 2010, Laser initiated a public outreach program to help educate and inform people about PA-NY gathering line project. Two recent events as part of this initiative where public informational open houses sponsored by Laser in Pennsylvania and New York. These open houses provided information, maps and access to Laser personnel and other experts to answer questions about natural gas development and Laser’s PA-NY gathering line.

Going forward, Laser will be providing regular opportunities for the public to learn more about our projects and interact with our staff. Watch the News & Events section of our website for upcoming meetings and events to attend. In addition, if you have a civic group and would like to learn more about natural gas and our project, please contact the PA office at the contact listed below.

In addition, Laser seeks to share the benefits of our projects beyond the landowners, consultants, labor and increased tax revenues. We recognize that our projects are hosted by the whole community and as such, we seek opportunities to provide additional benefits to groups and causes that benefit the community at-large through financial and other support.
